Alien 4 was the twentieth studio album by the English space rock group Hawkwind, released in 1995.

The idea behind this painting is who are the aliens on this planet, and has humanity evolved to a point where it is alien itself.

In this composition the benign aliens look over nature, whilst the humans do their best to destroy it.

Alan was most annoyed when an LP version of this artwork was released, as his understanding was only a CD version was to be distributed. Alan likes his artwork to be bigger than the end result – this picture was too small for an LP design.
