“Basking Shark Off The Cornish Coast” is an original painting by Cornish based artist Alan Arthurs. Basking sharks are a common sight off the coast of Cornwall, this painting shows Bedruthan Steps in the background. Alan uses an unusual technique painting with enamel paints onto perspex.

This painting highlights Alan’s love for geology shown in the intricate rock work on the cliffs. The piece also show the basking shark’s environment and choice of food – with plankton not something often depicted.
